The Grind Poem by Daniel Brown

The Grind

New normal,
Anything but that.
But since when have I ever known it by sight?
By touch, taste, or sound...
Your words woke me up,
Like a scraping void,
Out and down.
Trying to fill these hollow rhythms,
With a clench...
Attempting not to break apart the passages
