The Harmattan Poem by JESUROBOOWIE GIFT IMAFIDON

The Harmattan

Rating: 4.5

With profound greetings from the distant land
Across the Mediterranean Sea and all through the Sahara
You have powerfully arrived
Oh Harmattan!
The leaves shiver at your coming
The trees bow at your strength
Your smell filled with pollens
I can perceive from afar

Oh Harmattan!
With intense heat you stir up the day
And winter’s cold yet without snow you thrive at night
The fruits burst with life
Revealing their beautiful ripening colours
And at your long awaited seasonal entering
The farmers’ joy is so full
Cos the harvest time is near
