The Heaven Poem by Shahzada Imtiaz Ali

The Heaven

Peace be upon you,
I am among those souls
who do not breathe in noise,
but in silence.
When voices grow too loud,
the rhythm of my heart
begins to lose its harmony.
Chaotic sounds fall upon my being
like stones raining down
upon a peaceful lake.
Loudness does not merely reach the ears;
it wounds the spirit as well.
Then the heart grows weary,
the body sinks into exhaustion,
and the mind drifts
into an unnamed sorrow.
I find comfort in gentle words,
in soft voices,
in conversations that do not burden the soul
but descend upon it like peace.
Believe me,
sometimes silence
is far more beautiful
than a thousand spoken words.
And a sentence spoken with kindness
touches the soul like a prayer.
My humble request is only this:
choose calmness over chaos,
for there are hearts
that survive only in peace.
