The Highway South Poem by Jim Levy

The Highway South

can't sleep at night
can't talk to you

old age caught up to me
the past caught up to you

sing the blues
the goodbye blues
I am out of here
the highway south
the happy blues

It was time to stop drinking
or time to drink more.
It was I talk you listen
those blues
but you held all the cards.

Roaming the radio looking for salvation,
the last rat blues.
