The House In My Dreams Poem by Jordan Aston

The House In My Dreams

The staircase creaked as I walked slowly
I saw the state the walls were in, covered in guacamole
It was dark with a bit of light
But the room wasn't that bright

I went on up without looking back
I heard a sudden crack
The staircase was falling and destroyed
Underneath was an endless void

I ran and ran but it just kept coming
So in the end I just kept running
As I reached the top I opened the door
And realised I had to run some more

But as I tripped and I was caught
I had a feeling that I wasn't distraught
No matter how real that the events seem
I realised it was just a dream
