My eyes unlearn their ancient ways—
no longer fractured by the mirror of my own making,
but beholding the Face that has always breathed
behind the veil of words.
The atmosphere of Divine Self-Sufficiency
becomes my qibla, my sole direction,
and in His sacred Name alone I raise my kingdom—
in A'lā 'Illiyyīn,
where light is sovereign
and grace sits upon an unshaken throne.
This kingdom—
no sword has carved its borders,
no siege can breach its walls.
The dust of centuries cannot settle here,
nor can the bounds of space contain it.
The one imprisoned in the depths of Asfal as-Sāfilīn
cannot ascend to A'lā 'Illiyyīn—
not until he walks the hidden inward road
on feet woven of sincerity, love, and utter dissolution.
Every step is a burning,
every burning a radiance,
every radiance the opening of a door
that has no guardian, no key, no lock.
And the one whom the Lord's grace lifts
to the highest heights
remains forever a dweller of the Eternal.
The earth grows tender beneath his step,
the sky becomes his mirror,
and every particle of dust
utters the secret language of his heart.
I journey from heaven to heaven.
I drift through oceans of living light,
from island to island, from horizon to horizon.
Every wave bestows a name upon me,
and every name returns me to the Name
that was before all naming.
At last, when every veil dissolves,
every name is effaced,
every claim falls into silence—
neither You nor I remain,
only the One who has always been.
Then only grace remains—
a court without frontier,
a stillness that swallows every question,
a beauty that draws the gaze toward itself
and then gently erases even the one who sees.
There, the perfection of Oneness—
where Majesty abides
and Beauty forever blossoms;
the Beginning and the End,
and every moment between them
nothing but His own reflection.
Only stillness.
Only beauty.
Only Him.
