The Land Of Borrowed Dreams Poem by Okello Baloyi

The Land Of Borrowed Dreams

Outshined through unconventional methods that speak louder than words,
Two birds are killed with a single stone.
The fake curses the real,
As fictional theories chase unmeasured dreams.
In the land of opportunity, who truly has a voice?
Gravity separates the poor from the wealthy,
While industrial zones are replaced by churches.
Sustained by foreign aid,
There is a sudden realization of an unknown currency.
