The Letter Poem by Macwolls Kay

The Letter

I penned a letter to a friend
Upon this pen a feather stood
Gentle strokes like a serpents glide
Meandering like the morning Nile.

It spoke of things my mouth had shunned
My inner thoughts came rushing through
Of things my tongue would never say
And deeds so bold for me to bear.

With a tear, I sealed my letter
Hopping that when time came by
She would see what lay beneath,
And read and feel my inner thoughts.

I stood up strong and braved the walk
I flipped it up and tossed it in
And wished so hard the man would come,
So my inner-self relayed.

I waited long as time passed by
I turned and tossed, and wished so hard
How I wished I could recall
My inner-self my inner thoughts.

But then once more I stood up brave
I made the call, the dreaded call
And asked her if my letter reached
The hesitation in her voice,
Told me more than words would say.
