The Lonely Guy Poem by JOSIAH YAKSPORT YAKUBU

The Lonely Guy

Rating: 1.0

Sitting all alone in the balcony
Thinking about the mysteries of life
About life's cruelty and its parody
How darkness rises against light

Trying to sight through the misty past
Inquiring from the mysteries of quietness
Thinking about life's truthful tasks
And asking questions on time's uniqueness

With a melancholic voice he asked
'Where is every one?
Why alone here, do I stand?
Is loneliness and grief my crown?

Seems like no one understand me
The people I love don't seems to love me
Instead, they go for who doesn't love them'
These are the words of a loner in pain

His friends don't seems to understand him
He seems to speak a different language
Among the people he called his friends
Because they don't understand his wisdom

Many questions seems to engulf his mind
Why this? , why that? And why, why?
But oh, why? Is the hardest question why?
He is the man people called the lonely guy

Men that are set apart for greatness,
Most times walk alone
For many people misunderstood them
Because they think not, like the crowd

Enoch, Noah, Abraham, and Jacob,
Were men who walked alone;
In the path of truth,
And were misunderstood.

Moses was a man set apart for greatness
As he watched the sheep in the wilderness
Clouded with misty loneliness,
The burning bush appeared to him alone

You can't be noticed in the crowd
But you can be, when you're alone on the stage
A man of vision must carry his cross alone
Because you can't carry your cross in company
Your cross is your own carry alone.
