The Lost Girl Poem by Rajendra Raj Khare

The Lost Girl

When shadows get tall
And they leave in evenings,
When the night closes in -
'n' wraps itself on the awnings,
Under yellow lights,
In those magical moments
I found a lost girl…
Her body abused,
Her thoughts like a shattered crystal,
Trying to find her way,
In the labyrinths of life -
I found a lost girl…

Tear drops in her eyes,
Dried up into whiteness,
Her dreams dying in the darkness
She looked around -
And walked with me
I found my life
I found a lost girl
In the labyrinths of life -
I found a lost girl…

Like a blade of grass
Trembling in the air
She walked with me
And made me strong
To live on…
Under yellow lights,
In those magical moments
I found a lost girl
