The Lotus Flower Poem by Suhad Salih Abubakar

The Lotus Flower

Like the blossomed lotus flower
I will hold you sacred and esteemed
But I am no Egyptian
Your growth like the eclipse
And beauty like the eye of heaven
Your breath like cinnamon is flattering
For the symbol of love only you can bear
Making the darkest of waters clean
Making the clearest of waters your home
You breath life into troubled souls
In the mud you seem radiant
Among life's inconsistencies
You still remain my life's beautiful essence
