The Man That Died Poem by Katlynne Houston

The Man That Died

How can some one see all the failure going on
And want to be a part of it until his life is gone
Wasting all his money spending all his time
On pot pills and beer always drunk or high
Hurting all the women ruining children's lives
And any one who knows him only hears his lies
He goes around all the time breaking peoples hearts
Not knowing all along that his life is falling apart
Until one day he wakes to find that he's in love
But he finds out she wont take him because of all the drugs
He pours the beer down the sink and says "I want no more"
But before he goes to bed that night he's at the liquor store
Eventually he gets the girl by filling her with lies
At first its going great but soon he cant look at her eyes
Soon after that she complains her kids are always sad
Because he's gone every night and they don't have a dad
After that he's overwhelmed by all the guilt he has
Over every one and every thing he's hurt in the past
Then one dark night he gets drunk and finds a gun
He puts the end to his head and counts from three to one
He pulls the trigger and the bullet goes into his head
And there's nothing she can do or say ‘cause now the man is dead
And now she's all alone with kids and bills to pay
And she'll never know the truth about why things are this way
And the truth to all the lies he's hidden deep inside
Is buried in the grave with the man that died
