The Mask Poem by Kylie Archer

The Mask

Loving girl who hides the hate
Everyday she puts a smile upon her face.
Bright eyes that hide the tears
It gets harder every year.
Happy girl who hides the frown
Her world has been turned upside down.
Honest girl who hides the lies
She cries herself to sleep at night.
Healed girl who hides her wrongs
She knows she has to be strong.
Smart girl who hides the mistakes
All her scars are reminders for
everyone she's made.
Quiet girl who hides the screams
She's only real in her dreams.
Pretty girl who hates this world
She's only a teenage girl
Who hates all of this
And her masks hide who she really is...
