The Mind's Furthest Depths Poem by Jeremiah Cook

The Mind's Furthest Depths

In the mind's furthest depths,

preserved from all vain delight,

order and solitude in all glorious might.

Banished, the sensual gaze,

starved, the greedy eye.

Let no one ever doubt,

under this our only sky,

what folly keeps from man,

till the day he lets it die.
