The Night We Will All Remember Poem by L.J. Miller

The Night We Will All Remember

Our lips tasted like sweat and sin
There was fire in our eyes
And rebellion in our hearts
As we let the night in

The sky was filled with lights
And the streets with color
Music shook the buildings
And people sang that song for nights

I ran through the crowed
Trying to keep up with you
You held my hand
Screaming just to be loud

I was wild and free
And the word was new and bright
Paper on the sidewalks
And shouts of glory

Wild and untamed
The rain began to fall
It made us smile
As it fought with the flames

It was the night the lights went out
The night that the world cried
The night we will all remember
The night no one will ask about
