From fjords so deep, a kingdom grew,
Eight seventy-three, a vision new.
Vikings bold, with ships so grand,
Claimed islands near, by sea and land.
Across the waves, their power spread,
Even Russia, felt their tread.
The Northern isles, beneath their sway,
A mighty realm, that held the day.
The ocean vast, a watery space,
Named for Norway, left its trace.
A realm of kings, and stories told,
Of sailors brave, and winters cold.
But time moves on, the seasons turn,
Thirteen ninety-seven, new lessons learn.
A union forged, a different way,
The Norwegian Realm, began to stray.
