Does he stand there
In the rain
Waiting for
God or
A bird
A sparrow hiding
Low in the grass
A milquetoast step away from him
Adorned in ripened green
A limestone armor
His head turned
Waiting for a celestial occurrence
As if he sees the joke now
Does he wait for nothing
Or
Only for a passerby
To give him a name
Or
Is he, like Erasmus
Just
Watching a warbler?
