The Odd One Out Poem by Ant Mac

The Odd One Out

Rating: 5.0

He wears odd socks,

His family came from overseas,

He thinks outside the box,

He doesn't look like you or me.

He is taller than the others,

And slimmer than the rest,

He doesn't have any brothers,

He does too well in tests.

He has a speech impediment,

And most peculiar laugh,

His glasses are always crooked,

I think he needs a bath.

His teeth the wrong shape and colour,

There is a slight bounce in his walk,

He is an opera lover,

Who doesn't know how to use a fork.

There are freckles on his face,

In his hair too many curls,

He can never win a race,

He is best friends with all the girls.

He studies too hard,

His thought process too slow,

He knows too much about the past,

He thinks he is in the know.

His face just doesn't fit,

His body shape's all wrong,

I know I shouldn't do it,

But something makes me carry on.

Maybe it's just me,

That I am feeling insecure,

I am sure we could all say something similar,

And this is whom this poem's for.
