There is only one truth,
Manifest in all creation.
It is that which shines in everyone,
It is the Af'al and 'Shayoonat'—
In its countless manifestations.
It is the giver of life,
It is the preserver of life.
It is our origin,
We are its manifestations.
By it, we are sustained,
From it, we receive life.
In its bounty, we breathe,
By its command, hearts beat.
The One Reality
Encompasses everything.
No corner,
No atom,
Is empty of it.
It is everything,
Nothing else exists.
Whatever exists,
Is its reflection,
Its radiance,
Its effulgence.
The doer, only it.
Only it is the Master of All.
The presence of 'Kun' (Be!) —
From one 'Kun, ' the universe appeared.
And whatever is happening
Is the echo of 'Fayakun' (and it is) .
It is the 'Wajib-ul-Wujud' (Necessarily Existent) ,
Which is self-existent.
All else before it
Is 'Mumkin-ul-Wujud' (Contingently Existent) ,
Which are sustained
By its will,
By its command.
They hold no
Independent existence within themselves,
No separate essence.
All return to it.
Yes, the contingently existent also
Perform actions,
Make decisions,
But only as much
As it has determined
In their power.
It grants the power,
It bestows the will.
This universe does not run by itself,
Rather, it is the one
Who runs it.
To know this,
To understand this,
Brings peace to the heart,
Leads the soul into mercy.
Because when this truth becomes clear,
Fear does not remain,
Pride shatters,
One bows down
And says,
'Only You are.
I am nothing.
You are everything.
Within me,
Outside me,
Everywhere,
Only You are.'
