The Orphan Poem by Srikar Veesam

The Orphan

Rating: 5.0

Walked through roads craving
People busy making money.
Ran down the streets praying
God for some grain.

People see dirt on his torn clothes
And not the sorrow deep in the heart.

No one to love no one to care.
No one to hug no one to kiss.

He knows grief, but not belief.
He knows affliction, but not affection.

Hundreds of nights gone sleepless.
Countless cries made his cheeks wet.
He can't cry anymore because
His ocean of tears
Has drained out leaving it Sere.

End of the day failed to fill his belly
Hunger pangs are no more a pain to him
Suddenly he collapsed down
And he never opened his eyes.

None to shed tears
None to cry aloud
After all he is an orphan
The victim of mistakes of many.
