The Other Day… Poem by eve Taylor

The Other Day…

So I had someone say to me,

the other day,

I need to get out more,

be social,

it'll be good for me.

I briefly told them

I get out,

when I need to,

I get stuff done,

in my spare time,

which is a lot more lately,

I do what I want,

it's what I want to do.

They weren't too fond of my response,

but to argue,

would have been futile.

Since I've wrapped everything in my life up,

which took a little spell,

my stress level is lower,

my eye's don't swell,

or over fill,

and I am genuinely happier.

So why would I change,

I'm sure,

without the stresses,

without the worries,

I am a lot more healthy.

Besides,

when you look at the way,

most people,

treat one and another,

why would I be any part of any society?

From the average,

basic relationships,

where harsh words,

are purposeful,

in an intently cruel way,

mostly for their own gain,

to the way,

larger faction's,

slaughter each other,

in the name,

of whatever they favor,

how they say to play the game,

I'd be a lot less healthy,

in such circumstances.
