I needed you
I wanted you
I never got you

The pain was intense
I could feel it
Touch it
Smell it

But it's not there anymore
You are out of sight
Out of mind

I feel free
The bonds have released me
You don't govern me anymore

I know it sounds crazy
But I want to thank you
You changed me
You helped me
You hurt me

I still think of you
Oh, yes, there's no denying it
But the hurt isn't there anymore
Maybe I'm numb to it

Inside I smile
Because the pain
That wonderful pain
Is subsiding
Is leaving
It's gone
