The Peace Of That Night Poem by Kekeletso Nakeli

The Peace Of That Night

As the rain poured,
the cover of night covering the world
as some dreamt of their futures
and others tossed and turned due to the past-
your presence next to me
gave me the peace to sleep a peaceful sleep.

I turned to hear you breath,
wondering if you would feel my breath.
I stared at your beautiful face,
I outlined your defined cheeck bone
This, all in the darkenss,
shone brightly under the moonlight
Radiating from a flawless complexion.

In your arms, I found myself,
In my dreams I found you.
I saw forever with you.

With the peace of that night,
I'd have settled for that as my forever.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I wouldn't have settled for anything less either. Some moments are just for keeps. Must have been a very pensive mood that took you through this piece. Guard your talent copiously! Beautiful...
