As I read further and further,
through your words, into your thoughts,
ghostly images are dragged,
into the forefront of my mind.
Some memories, of times, which I
so bitterly wish I could re-live.
Some imaginary, of an incident,
which has not but could still happen,
be happening. I am haunted,
by you and the decisions I have made.
Further and further into this trip,
through your mind, and I am tortured
by signs that point many different ways.
I am scared as each new word, gently,
but cruelly coaxes another tear from,
my tired eyes. Eyes which have seen,
too much sadness for their years.
Eyes which long to look upon the,
wordsmith who has managed to move me,
in a way that their spoken words has not.
At the end of this journey I am left,
feeling empty, and crippled from within.
Your thoughts and wishes make me regret,
the thoughts and wishes of my own,
confused head and foolish heart.
If I could cling to you and confess all,
with my head buried in your shoulder,
and my hands grasped in yours,
do you not think I would?
