The Pregnant Pachyderm's Pineapple Pain Poem by Shubham Agnihotri

The Pregnant Pachyderm's Pineapple Pain

She was brave, she knew what was coming.
The pachyderm was pregnant, a mother to become.
A baby was breathing in inside,
Like you and your kids are breathing outside.
She was not amok, rampant or wild in temper,
She was passive, hungry, thirsty, and perhaps weak.

She didn't invade your home or farm,
You are snatching her feed away
by slashing and burning the forest day by day.
You could beat her with sticks, and let her go away,
You could simply give her nothing, and she would depart,
But you deceived her like you deceive this nature every day.
You turned a juicy pineapple into an exploding grenade.
Yes! Only you can do this, the scion of 'Homo sapiens'
The wisest among all, and the cruelest among all.
I am ashamed of myself to be one of you.
She was an animal, We are human beings,
No, We are animals, She was a human being.
She was brave, she knew what was coming,
She went and stood straight drowning her head in the river stream,
She wasn't afraid of death, She took 'Jal Samadhi'
Humanity has failed again to save the humanity.
