The Pretender Poem by Miriama Turagabeci

The Pretender

This is a wake up call to all the girls
About those 'BOOS' Who mislead you
They start off sweet And romantic too
But what's inside Is the deadly truth
You thought it was platonic
In the things he did, but didn't realize
what this bloke would bring
he steals your heart with what you wanna hear
but don't give s*@t if you disappeared
you thought he was the one
on which you could lean
you thought he was the one
who would support your dreams
he traps you in a spell of infatuation
and cozily cuddles with your inner most being.
Then the day comes
when he pressures you
to everything right up to the 'I LOVE YOU'
he pretends to be mesmerized by your ways
but deep inside his like a lion who wants to play
now finally you find that there's a 'BUN' to bake
but when you tell him he says you meant nothing but a 'BIG MISTAKE'
He walks away with his head held high
like a peacock swaying its tail to the sky
his nothing but a cheat a fake a phony
a looser you fell for when you were lonely.
Wake up to see that you smarter then that
let 'NO MAN' take you and TREAT you like CRAP
Your worth more than diamonds that can ever be found
that should be treasured in all circumstance ups or downs
Wait awhile with the best of pride
because those of patience always survive
your so special that you'll take the prize
the prize of that someone who will support your strive.
Love doesn't happen in a blink of an eye
it takes years to process but its all worth while
that special someone will respect and cherish you through
and honestly saying he will mean the
'I LOVE YOU'
