THE PYRAMID OF REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY
(IGBO ENWEGHI EZE)


The ancient echo rings
A proud and worthy proverb
The Igbo have no kings
.No crown dictates our future.
No monarch rules the land.
We build a shared democracy,
The practical representative democracy
Egalitarianism, republicanism, sustained by every hand

The Base is the corporate equality
Here, every single voice is loud.
No single person rules the crowd.
Independence is our shared birthright
Equality keeps our future bright.
Every Igbo is a king, councilor, and a business man
Just as the three makes a man
We must all agree and we do agree.


The man heads the family council
the elder is the head can as well abdicate to the next
Ageing and transition is in the family
the family elder comes to the council
with the decision reached in the family
unstable personality, cannot lead a family
Changes and support, starts in the family council.


The true meritocracy is the crux and core
No royal bloodlines grant a name.
No nepotism heritage wins the crown
Respect is earned through honest sweat.
On personal worth, our stakes are set.


The Amala Council (Umunna) is the Pillar
The Amala meets in the open square.
The village elders gather together there
Decisions flow from what is right,
While Ozo titles shine with light.
Justice, fairness and truth is
Guarded jealously by Ofo na Ogu
The prided integrity anchored to the truth
