The Reality Poem by Marissa Gertmenian

The Reality

'Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.'

I've heard these words so many times
I applied them to my life
I sang them to myself each day
If ever going through strife.

But now these words to me,
No longer are sung true
For God has given me no grace
My life I can't go through.

I am a wretch who has done wrong
My sins for all to see
But amazing grace that sweet 'ole sound
Has not saved the wretch in me.

I have given up on all my hopes
I'm ending my life of dreams
For when your life becomes reality
Its not longer what it seems.
