The Scars Poem by Andrus Cassian

The Scars

Brother, brother come find me please
I'm up a tree, covered in leaves
this world is killing me
I, I have so much pint up distress and irritation
and no outlet to let it all release
like an ant to a preying mantis
I'm weak though I act as though I'm stronger than anyone
only a facade so you don't always have to watch over me
But brother, brother none of that matters now
please tell me what to do
What can I do to erase everything that happened today
I know I'm stubborn but I'll listen
anything to take the burden off these weak shoulders
The long road I took, took a toll
and I'm a dog, scratching at a door that doesn't exist anymore
The scars, they run deep and I fear I may bleed
Brother, don't let me bleed
brother, please come help me
