The Secrets Inside The Box Poem by Janae Jones

The Secrets Inside The Box

A stab in the heart,
you bring me pain.
I unlocked your secrets,
saw the writing on the wall—
it felt like a slap in the face,
a stab in the back.

I never expected you to love me,
but to think there were four of me—
my heart dropped,
shattered into pieces
for the second, maybe third time.

Tears fall continuously
as I pick up the pieces of my heart.
I drop them into the box
I've stolen from you.

You can have my broken heart.
I don't need it anymore.
Bye.
