The Seeker And The Contented Soul Poem by Mystic Qalandar

The Seeker And The Contented Soul

The Seeker speaks:
On the tireless roads of striving,
a knock once echoed upon
the door of my heart—
a silent reverberation,
never reaching my lips,
a ray of light
quivering in the mirror of the heart.

But I turned away,
ignored that eternal call
of the primordial covenant:
'Seek—here lies the secret
hidden through the ages.'

For years I adorned the body with labor,
yet never immersed the heart
in the depths of divine love.
Never did I drink
from the goblet of contentment,
never sweetened
the bitterness of desire.
On the tablet of my heart
I never inscribed fidelity.

So tell me—
where has that light been lost?
Where is the spiritual triumph
promised by my destiny?

The Contented Soul replies, raising its head:
O seeker of truth,
your striving was but an ornament for the body.
When did you clothe the soul in light?
You made the ego your deity,
bowing before it
morning and evening.

You poured the stream of your essence
into the goblet of a mirage.
With bricks of heedlessness
you walled up your own heart.

Remember the true wisdom—
engraved upon the tablet of fate,
the hidden mystery of radiance
buried deep within your being.

Come forth now
out of the veils of mist,
and know this reality:
the journey of epiphany
is the yearning of solitude,
an art that trembles
but never ceases.

This is the soul's flight;
this is the final truth.
And you ask, "What have I gained? "
Nothing—
but the forgetting of yourself.

Striving without divine love
is a barren journey.
All worldly toils
are like sand slipping through the fist.

This is not destiny—
it is your own choosing:
an act that either kindles
the lamp of the heart,
or extinguishes it.

If you truly seek the light,
seize within your heart's palm
the words of that primordial secret.
Free your soul from bondage,
step into the valley
of boundless love.

Only then will your being be illumined,
only then will you taste the serenity
for which both body and spirit
were consecrated.

Then, O traveler,
the First Covenant will be fulfilled,
and you will become the true lover—
the very purpose
for which you were created.
