The Shortest Day Poem by Will B a Poet

The Shortest Day

Rating: 5.0

Shout out the lie, how can you say,24 hours in a day?
What about a birth just before midnight, or a death just afterwards.
It's absurd, when night takes daylights place does it darken reasons face,
when you say 24 hours in the shortest day.

A midge lives for just a day, so a day for him is a lifetime.
Then there's the prisoner locked in his cell, the patient suffering pain,
the pensioner all by herself and the person disturbed in the brain
and do you say, there is no difference between Heaven and Hell,
both are Eternal and do not change their state.

But which one would you swap for the shortest day,
hear on earth what tomorrow says today.
This is the land of the shortest day.

This was written for B.B. competition that I knew would fail, because the
person judging it, said rather foolishly that, you couldn't state facts in a poem.
