The Silent Pendulum Poem by Riano Harp

The Silent Pendulum

When I closed my eyes in the cocoon
And made faith of inclinations tune,
Carved fear as God to a natural sense
And thought shallow of my Mind's immense,
I beheld myself an animal;
Wove time from a thought's interval
And grew old as a pattern to steps
Foraging end within endless depths;
Growing, though ever still I remain,
I planted roots for a man's refrain
Which dresses him for a parting lane —
The Silent Pendulum's striking vein
Transforms all wrinkling flesh to mend
A babe's innocence to a second —
I imagined daylight to a bliss
And made love for dark to reminisce
The gushing stream of eternity,
Gasping in all forms as ecstasy
Like the Spark I named Infinity,
Leaving behind for posterity
A guide for humankind to immerse
Themselves in themselves: the Universe.
