The Sky Poem by Danny Taylor

The Sky

As I gaze into the sky,
Through the wind I see birds fly,
I cannot help but wonder why?
Where we come from; who we are?

The sun is glorious and true,
The sky shows simple shades of blue,
I’m glad to sit here, next to you,
On the chair that swings with love,

Our hands clasped tightly and together,
As we smile at the weather,
I feel your hair, soft as a feather,
The grass is green, no clouds are near,

My happiness is overflowing,
By the landscape God is showing,
I glance to the heavens unknowing,
I breathe deep and close my eyes,

And now the sun’s life is decaying,
Orange and reds that are displaying,
The blue was there but isn’t staying,
A lasting memory inside,

I cannot hear the faintest sound,
The giant yellow orb goes down,
It disappears behind the ground,
I can see the moon beyond,

I wouldn’t care if I was dying,
You are here, my soul is flying,
And now the stars are out and shining,
As I gaze into the sky
