The Sleep That Never Came Poem by Alex Fischer

The Sleep That Never Came

Deep within my mind no rest
Ever comes to me it is repressed
Lurking deep within my soul
I feel as though I am a ghoul
What is this strange particular feeling?
What is this vast never-ending disease?
The one that started when my mind slipped
And started to drift
Stricken am I with this curse
It comes to me every night in curse
Nothing can ever lift it no
Where has this rest gone? It has to show
For I know not how long I’ll live
With this curse hanging above my head
I’m afraid that if it does not end
Ever soon shall I lay forever in bed
