The Soul's True Beloved Poem by Mystic Qalandar

The Soul's True Beloved

Today, I repent my longing for Paradise;
Your presence alone, O God, is my sole blessing.
I seek no Eden, no forbidden fruit—
Only the sacred space where You are revealed.

I surrender all, desiring nothing but You;
Even the dream of Paradise, I release from my heart.
My only aim is to attain Your Essence,
Proclaiming with joy my faith in Your Oneness.

Ever ready to stand in the court of Divine Unity—
A court within me, known since the Day of Alast.
"O Allah, show us truth as it truly is"—this is my cry;
When veils are lifted, I see only One Existence.

I did not descend to earth by my own will,
But as Your vicegerent, to fulfill Your decree.
The world of causes moves by Your command—I see no division.
In every atom, Your light shines brilliantly.

When my gaze meets Your Essence, even angels bow low;
Honored by nearness, I rise beyond the heavens.
With the heart's eye, I witness realms of Eternal Light,
Drenched in Your grace, I breathe the fragrance of Oneness.

Ahad Himself opens the door, whispering, *"Come, beloved one—
I have waited for you through eternity."
Night and day, I behold the Paradise within my soul;
Cloaked in poverty, I boldly declare: *"I am the Truth."
