The Sun Was Once Mine Poem by mark glaser

The Sun Was Once Mine

The sun is hiding,
It was once bright and warmed my soul,
Now it's hid behind clouds - deep, thick,
I want to blow the clouds away,
But with all my heart's tearful breaths,
They have no effect.

I await for sunny days to shine upon me,
I have no choice, the choices I make are the choices I can make,
May the weather change in my favor, helpless as I am.

Though tear stained,
The sun does shine,
It will,
It has.
