The Tale Of Survival Poem by Sanjib Saha

The Tale Of Survival

How can I recount
the tale of survival?
The courtyard's overflowing
with rain,
my feet submerged.

From feet to knees,
knees to throat,
I yearn to drift away, effortlessly.

Earth, wrapped in
Maya's embracing veil,
I beckon you incessantly -
how long will you call?

Now, steaming rice
on a brass platter,
fragrances fill my chest,
the last tram's distant hum,
how far can I flee?

I whisper to my child,
'Let's cherish a profound dream.'
