The Tenant Poem by MAHAMMA ADRIANNE

The Tenant

Thou art a family of six in single room
Against another who hath a room
Why the kitchen belong to thee?
Had to flush the toilet doubly
Clean and rinse the compound frequently
Complain and flush all the time
Am just for appointed time
Buzz and squeal I had to contain it
Aggression got transferred to me
‘Cos I speak differently
Perhaps the one should transform to six
At least not in single room
With one of the children over ten
