The Truth Poem by Michael Saurer

The Truth

The Truth is hard
and seldom fair
it rips you apart
it does not care

I had never known what is true
till I finally met you
You make me feel as no one did before
my heart keeps pounding at it's core

Truth may be hidden
behind a thousand lies
but you'll know when you're smitten
with your true love's eyes

I had never known what I wanted
till the moment I saw you smile
I never wanted to feel so bonded
but you made me change my style

The Truth is cruel
cause you put me through hell
if I fight the devil in a duel
in the end all may be well

However hard you are to get
I can not leave, I can not quit
sun may rise or sun may set
my heart is stronger than my wit

The Truth is such:
I know what I want
I may suffer truly much
still I wouldn't cut this bond

First time ever
I'm sure of my heart
so even if you make it hard
I'd leave you never
cause I know what I want:
I want to fight at your side
I want to cry at your plight
I want to share your fate
even if it ends at hell's gate

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I may have felt love before...but I've never known this terrifying feeling that however it may end, it will change the very nature of your being- still there is no way you could turn your back to this one special person...
