The Truth Of Dare Poem by Calvin Berg

The Truth Of Dare

Daredevils do
Daredevils die
And those who dare we chide

But there are some
Who dare to still
To get the rush; to get the thrill

When I was young
When I was dumb
I dared to dare to love

Reckless, brave
I'd go too far
Too high, too fast to drop

No longer child
But now a man
I now dare still to love

Reckless, brave
I go too far
Too high, too fast to stop

And here I am
Missing she
The love I dared to drop

Oh why won't you
My distant love
Give me this one more chance

Believe, like me
That it can work
Give us one more dance

The space between us
For love, is naught
But numbers, dates, and time

The distance the same
As from A to C
The girl for whom I rhyme
