The Underworld Poem by Okello Baloyi

The Underworld

I am ageing in a society where am not appreciated, where gifts are not realised, misconduct being treated as right behaviour, kids growing up in a society that doesn't allow plants to grow.

Where reality is the opposite of what is known about me, conclusions arising from my loved one's and the unknown, it feels like the world is conspiring against me, telling me am not good enough

It doesn't get any better, at some point my heart turns into a whisperer of my mind, speaking this is the one, but what does mind have to do with affection than alerting the body of certain feelings
