The Unextinguished Ember
In our neighborhood, a teenager's nose ring vanished,
leaving a youth, lost in the winds of sorrow,
to whimsically blow on the embers of his heart,
and with a forlorn gaze, merely touch the girl's body, saying,
'Will you lose it? '
The wind carries the lost scent, a blend of adolescent bodies,
beckoning them to return to their youth, to answer the call
of 'Come, come' echoing through the years, only to be met
with the heavy, prolonged sighs of time.
Our neighborhood still trembles with the recurring fires,
as the winds fan the flames, consuming everything:
homes, humans, and all that once was. Yet, in this desolate
landscape, a face still stirs, a testament to resilience.
As bees fly away, sated with nectar, and butterflies
color their wings, they whisper in the afternoon,
'I still exist, searching desperately, for I've heard
love never dies.'
