From school each noon swiftly
To the daily knelt devotion
Until newsprint images of a mute
Taboo led sorrow's morning
Dew into a quiet rapture.
(...from a passing car swiftly,
some thug flung an empty jug
my desire retrieved unbroken
from where this roadside view
beheld the splendor of four roses...)
Bouquets I kept in safe enclosure
To jade each afternoon at school.
My escape-hatch of daydreams
Led thru the cherished passageway
Into a garden of rare intoxication.
Stealth made our way to heed
Seclusion's descent in scent as
An inhaled hint of drunken alcohol.
*
The crass blindly pass such jewels as these...
Some treasures only the profound seize.

I would like to translate this poem
Into a garden of rare intoxication. Stealth made our way to heed Seclusion's descent in scent as An inhaled hint of drunken alcohol... a great poem, the use of words and wonderful expressions touches me. thank you. tony
