The Voice Poem by George Aul

The Voice

I walk silent through the darkness,
not knowing where to go,
I hear a voice - a caring pitch,
'I do love you so.'

The darkness - I know I fear,
for the unknown is all around,
once again I hear this voice,
'Do not be afraid, ' with a comforting sound.

The strangeness of it all,
that's what bothers me the most,
for a third time I hear this voice,
'I am the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.'

I now know the place where I am,
the strangeness...the darkness disappear,
this fatherly voice reassures me again,
'You are my son - you belong here.'
