The Waiting Poem by Prem Nizar H Kalindhi

The Waiting

1
The October tenth…
It was a day like Krishna's
Crossing through the sea,
Our Allan's excellent drive
Rushing through the heavy rain!

2
Timely arrival…
We with our daughter reached the
Welcare Hospital
To get her admitted to
The labour complex on time!

3
The restless moments…
Waiting for a call from nurse
In the labour room;
At nine thirty in the morn
Our grandson was born safely!

(Tanka, Syllable: 5-7-5-7-7)
