The Wall Poem by Abbie Jensen

The Wall

Life is like a giant wall
Everyone is straining to get to the top
Some never make it and just fall
Some make it to the top and get a glimpse of the view that was blocked

The view is different for everyone
An ocean beating softly against white sand
A city rising above the horizon, illuminating the sky
Or simply just an empty plain, where some can be alone to say what they've been dying to say

But for those who never get to see what's above the wall
See something else that no wall climber could ever see.
They see their loved ones standing on the top of the wall
They see triumph in love climbers faces
They see love that could never be experienced climbing the wall
They see people for who they really are

But what everyone sees is the one person who climbed the wall, fell, and still made it to the top.
Everyone sees the person who built the wall
Whether they feel or kept climbing, they will see His face, everyone.

My message is almost over
Just one last line or two
Keep climbing the wall
You will always have the help of Him and others
When you feel like letting go, remember those who were pushed down the wall
Those who never had the chance to see the top
Then keep climbing after your family and friends
For they cannot do it without you either

Keep climbing the wall
And you will never fall
