The Way Of Life Poem by Gretta Gin

The Way Of Life

Live in a moment ‘till the moment's gone
Worship those memories then you're in bed alone,
Secure it in your chest and your embrace
And hold it tight before it gets erased

Hold on to people who can see your soul
They half of you so they can be your home,
You roll through life with them ‘till day you die
And may then God will never see you cry

Never forget to look behind your back
There are a lot of things worth looking at,
But never lock your mind in past tense fuss -
You can't undo the path you've dared once to choose

Go push yourself on edge and then some more
‘Cause life is full of things worth living for
And you need strength to see it for yourself -
Most precious things are on the highest shelf

Don't be afraid of things that are unknown,
They may be hard to swallow in one go
And you can fear them if you want to lose
But there are fights that just can't be refused

When sky's clear and your path's obscure,
When there's nothing what you know for sure
Don't stop on track and push again once more
Until you find a thing worth living for
