I think this is a wonderful poem. The poet has captured the surreal imaginative connections that children make so well. Though I do feel the poem would have had a better ending on the sixth stanza, with the last goodbye - au revior idea. I don't think the last stanza carries through the imaginative strength as well as the rest of the poem. However it's still a lovey poem.
