‎the Weatherman. Poem by Sammy Aswani Luyove

‎the Weatherman.

By Aswani Luyove

School taught me some geography,
‎I mastered granny's science of the sky,
‎So, I can see cats and dogs rains nigh
‎For tonight, tomorrow or maybe longer!
‎It will pour as though from a big waterfall.

‎Suddenly, after a long hot sun storm,
‎The evening grass is wet with dew!
‎And not in the morning as usual!
‎The crickets have gone silently shy,
‎The stars shyly blurry behind the dark sky,
‎And granny groans with pain in the knee,
‎Because of the suddenly cold breeze;
‎And I can tell, it will rain cats and dog.
‎And the lazy mucky drains will clog,
‎The hybrid SUVs will swim in river roads
‎The riparian luxury massionates will flood
‎And the highway bridge will sink too.

‎So sent the boss man a text tonight,
‎And a screenshot of this bulletin too,
‎And tell him you won't report tomorrow,
‎For it shall rain cats and dogs;
‎For the weatherman has said.
